A nineteen year-old male who had been stationed with his family in Sicily for 2 years returned to the US in the summer of 2000. He presented in February 2001 with 1 - 2 weeks of fevers, chill, and night sweats. Initial evaluation was non-revealing, including multiple cultures. Diagnosis was made by bone marrow biopsy shown above.
