A fifteen year-old Sudanese rebel soldier with one week history of traditional treatment for this endemic parasitic infection. When the worm broke through the skin of the toe to ovulate, it was tied to a string and was slowly retracted over a period of about three weeks. Estimated length of worm: 1.3 meters. (Also, see Case 5).
